What will you do
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the compliance strategy for CZ, GB, PL, and IT to ensure full VAT regulatory alignment in each region.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the company is fully compliant with local laws, including tax regulations, data protection, and financial compliance.
  • Design and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure seamless operations.
  • Work closely with Product, Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into our product offerings and internal processes.
  • Drive collaboration between compliance and country-specific teams to share knowledge and ensure efficient issue resolution.
  • Lead and mentor your compliance team to ensure the effective implementation of compliance strategies by the hands-on approach to managing operational demands, ensuring the team can handle urgent compliance issues without losing focus on larger strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage technology and automation to improve risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure the team balances day-to-day compliance tasks with strategic OKR delivery, setting clear priorities to maintain operational excellence without compromising long-term goals.
  • Conduct risk assessments and gap analyses to identify potential compliance risks, particularly around financial penalties, tax regulations, and data privacy.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to set measurable OKRs, track progress, and ensure alignment between compliance strategy and company-wide objectives.
  • Ensure that all compliance reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with local regulatory requirements and regularly report on compliance performance, incidents, and emerging risks to the Head of Compliance and senior leadership.
What you are good at
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field combined with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance or regulatory role, ideally with responsibility for multiple countries.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise in VAT and tax compliance for multiple regions, including the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Poland, and Italy, with a deep understanding of local regulatory nuances.
  • Proven experience leading a compliance team in a fast-paced operational environment, balancing immediate compliance needs with longer-term strategic goals.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement compliance strategies aligned with regional and company-wide goals.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence and partner with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in leveraging technology to enhance compliance processes and drive automation.
  • Strong risk management skills, with a focus on mitigating financial penalties and ensuring robust regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to analyze complex regulatory environments and develop efficient solutions.
  • Strong experience in setting, managing, and delivering OKRs, ensuring that team goals are aligned with broader company objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex compliance matters in a clear and concise manner, both in German and English.
