As an Application Scientist your primary role is to configure & support the implementation of Dotmatics solutions in to complex laboratory, scientific research or scientific development environments.You will work closely with cross functional teams such as  Project Management teams, solution architects & customer teams, to understand their needs, analyse their data environment, assist in design and implementation of our solutions and aid in integration with their data systems.

Working within our Professional Services team, You will also be responsible for demonstrations and training, technical support, and business development where appropriate.

In this role you will get to

  • Support in discovery activities to identify key systems in scope (customer environment)  for data integration
  • Work alongside Senior or Principal Application scientists to help Identify optimal sourcing and integration strategy ensuring clarity of data requirements
  • Provide guidance and best practices on data sourcing for the creation of sustainable integrations and methods utilizing standard Data Ingestion technologies and architectural principles
  • Data integration: Planning, coordinating the integration of data from various sources 
  • Data flow monitoring: Monitoring the flow of data between databases, servers, and cloud services 
  • Data architecture: Identifying and implementing the best data integration (DI) architecture for the organization
  • Present the benefits of Dotmatics software and explain the technical architecture to clients
  • Gather and review customer requirements and design integrated Dotmatics suites
  • Install and configure Dotmatics software
  • Work closely with Dotmatics engineering & product teams to propose new projects and aid in the development of future versions of the Dotmatics suite

 

We are looking for people who have 3-5 years working experience in a with B2B Scientific SaaS solutions, Bioinformatics or similar, you will ideally hold a higher education in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biology or related Scientific field. 

The Key skills we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience in consulting customers, with proven experience of SaaS Solution implementations
  • The ability to clearly document key business requirements
  • Data integration: Planning, coordinating, and supporting teams with the integration of data from various source 
  • Working knowledge of data science technologies and best practices
  • Programming or scripting language working with scientific data (Python, JSP, JavaScript)
  • Working with: lab informatics software, building queries, web technologies and knowledge of file transformations like CSV, XML, XLS, XLSX and XSL and strong configuration management.
  • Working knowledge of building and deploying  API’s 
  • In depth user expertise in Oracle (SQL)  as an enterprise tool
  • The ability to translate Scientific & Technical language in to layman’s terms to aid customer understanding or an understanding to the wider Dotmatics team
