Dover Precision Components is hiring a Senior Designer- Engineering for our Cook Compression brand, located preferably at our South Houston/Pearland, TX manufacturing facility. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to work remotely 2 days a week in this hybrid-remote role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
This position will be responsible for the interpretation of Engineering instructions and requirements to create high tolerance, multiple component mechanical 3D models and drawings that meet the application requirements. In this role, you will participate in and contribute to process improvement and design for manufacturability activities as well as in the development and implementation of company-wide design standards and practices that reflect industry best practices and improved efficiency. Specific responsibilities include:
- Create 3D models and associated 2D drawings
- Create Item and Part Structure (BOM) information within PLM system and complete the associated workflows.
- Develop and maintain 3D model and 2D drawing database within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system via Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process.
- Perform checking duties on assembly and component level drawings.
- Participate in and contribute to process improvement and design for manufacturability activities.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
- Participate in and contribute to resolving client/engineering and management project issue.
- Support manufacturing personnel with evaluations of deviated components, corrective action investigations and other quality related activities.
- Support engineering process development and design for manufacturability efforts.
- Assist in the maintenance of ISO certification and documentations to support products meet appropriate national and international codes and standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years working in design engineering environment.
- Experience with precision design and manufacturing required. Preference for background in rotating equipment and reciprocating compressor or compressor components.
- Strong understanding of Engineering Principles and Design Practices with an emphasis on mechanical design.
- Highly skilled in 3D modeling software.
- Ability to train on and create standard training documents.
- Demonstrated ability to apply continuous improvement techniques to existing processes and procedures.
- Ability to utilize precision measuring and surveying instruments such as calipers, inside/outside micrometers, depth gages, surfaces gages, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to create ideas and develop solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in GD&T and ISO Tolerancing.
- Abily to travel 10- 15% of time to manufacturing sites.
