We are Anchor Point Studios and we’re looking for a technical sound designer to help us build the future of mind-blowing video game entertainment for a new, innovative 3D action title.

 

What You'll Do

  • Define and design audio systems in Wwise and Unreal game engine.
  • Integrate designed sounds in Wwise and Unreal game engine.
  • Collaborate with the audio lead and other team members to establish and maintain the audio vision for projects.
  • Create thorough documentation on the audio systems and implementation. 
  • Guide other developers on how to interface with, and use, audio systems
  • Optimize audio performance for various platforms, ensuring high fidelity and efficient resource usage.
  • Assist in performance profiling of the games audio using WWise and other profiling tools
  • Troubleshoot audio issues in-game and provide solutions to ensure a polished final product.
  • Create import/export tooling where needed for WWise to Unreal
  • Conduct audio integration tests and iteratively refine audio assets based on feedback from the team and playtesters.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and techniques in technical sound design and game audio.
  • Design and create high-quality sound effects, ambiances, and audio assets that enhance gameplay and storytelling.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Game Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a technical sound designer in the video game industry, preferably with AAA titles.
  • Excellent knowledge of Wwise integration in Unreal and implementation of audio in interactive environments.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine and the implementation of audio in interactive environments.
  • Excellent understanding of sound theory, including acoustics, propagation and signal processing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with spatial audio technologies and implementation.
  • Strong capability of understanding audio systems needs and creating them from scratch.
  • Experience in working and delegate work to outsourcing teams.
  • Knowledge of music composition and editing.
  • Knowledge of Wwise music system.
  • Knowledge of C++
