Position Description
The Senior Market development Manager for Digital PCR (dPCR) is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within biomedical research labs, pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms and other applications. This role involves recognizing unmet market needs and collaborating with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to drive the adoption of new applications and opportunities, ensuring alignment with Research & Development (R&D) efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, and biotech sectors. Working with regional sales directors.
- Market Needs Assessment: Identify unmet needs in the market and develop relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to drive new applications and opportunities in alignment with R&D.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and develop relationships with KOLs, SABs and key references, ensuring transparent alignment with other QIAGEN stakeholders.
- Strategic Support: Assist the Strategic Marketing Manager in creating Go-To-Market strategies and executing sales plans.
- Stakeholder Influence: Influence external stakeholders to promote the adoption of dPCR technology.
- Market Feedback: Collaborate with regional marketing managers and dPCR sales teams to gather and provide market feedback.
- Event Planning: Organize and conduct technical events in alignment with regional marketing requests.
- Integrated Solutions Promotion: Promote QIAGEN’s sample-to-insight offerings, developing workflow sales from sample isolation to data analysis and interpretation within the field of Genomics research.
- Situational analysis: Conducting a quarterly situational analysis aiming to systematically evaluate the internal and external factors affecting the dPCR business to maintain a competitive edge and adapt strategies based on current market conditions.
Position Requirements
- Strong experience in sales and/or Business Development and/or Product marketing experiences.
- Minimum education Master of Science, PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or related.
- Strong and broad experience of dPCR techniques and systems are required.
- Strong oral and written presentation skills required.
- Fluency in English; one extra European language is a must, additional language skills would be a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% within Europe.
