Polsinelli, a national law firm headquartered in Kansas City, MO is seeking an IT Manager of Financial Systems. Reporting to the Director of Financial Systems, this role can be hired as remote or hybrid, provided the candidate is located in a state/jurisdiction wherein we practice.
Position Overview:
- This position oversees a team focused on the delivery of IT Financial Systems and Financial Reporting services to internal customers within the firm to include the executive team, front office personnel and Finance and Accounting.
- The successful candidate will possess deep technical acumen, extraordinary attention to detail, and employ people-oriented leadership methodologies.
Key Requirements:
- Experience leading highly technical, distributed, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience with Financial IT systems to include Elite’s 3E, Intapp Time, Aderant’s BillBlast and Intapp’s BillSteam.
- Deep knowledge and expertise on current and emerging technologies for Legal Financial Reporting to include Power BI, Data Insights, Intellistat and SSRS.
- Strong in Project Management disciplines and IT governance practices
- Manage the architecture, analyze, design, test, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain new and existing financial system and reporting solutions utilizing Elite 3E, PowerBI, Data Insights and SSRS as appropriate.
- Communicate with Director of Financial Systems regarding status of projects and workloads.
- Maintain balance and system coherency between Finance Systems analysis and reporting applications and existing IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to develop Finance and Financial reporting solutions using Elite 3E, PowerBI, Data insights and SSRS.
- Deliver data integration by integrating data shared across legacy, new development, and purchased package environments specialized for legal industry.
- Study data sources by analyzing and identifying the relationship among data objects and provide proper documentation of the relationships.
- Develop and modify SQL functions and stored procedures to extract, transform, and load data.
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of SSRS, SSAS and SSIS and train those in your reporting line.
- Understand the SQL table structures and Data Analysis cubes of the various IT Finance software systems needed to develop financial reporting and ad-hoc queries including Elite 3E, Power BI, Data Insights, Intellistat, and Intapp Time.
- Employees approved for flexible work arrangements are expected to be available and maintain a practice of reliable, consistent attendance at all times during the employees scheduled work shift including, but not limited to, Zoom/messaging, email and voicemail, and by phone.
Preferred Competencies:
- Extensive background in legal financial reporting and supporting financial applications
- Previously held leadership roles within Legal Financial Systems and Financial Reporting operations
Technical Requirements:
- 10+ years in leading teams providing Legal Financial IT Solutions
- 5+ years of Legal Financial Reporting experience
Immediate Goals:
- Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with key internal stakeholders requiring Legal Financial systems and reporting solutions.
- Effectively lead and manage related staff, including assigning and monitoring workloads, arranging for coverage or assistance as needed, recommending training and development, and preparing performance evaluations
- Manage the architecture, analyze, design, test, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain new and existing financial systems and reporting solutions utilizing Elite 3E, PowerBI, Data Insights and SSRS as appropriate.
- Act as owner/decision maker for Legal Financial Systems and Financial Reporting solutions.

The budgeted salary range for this position, based on experience and location, is $150,000 - $175,000.
