About the role:

Responsible for maximizing revenues of Wiley print and digital content sales in the education channel. Work with the North India sales team to achieve and exceed yearly sales targets and maximize revenue & market share for Wiley India in the region. Collaborate with colleagues in marketing, customer service, and editorial/product to deliver on shared objectives and ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure Wileys methodology of adoption of Sales Force Dot Com (SFDC) for all sales reporting by team and self. Collect and share customer feedback on Wileys offerings, competitor activity and market trends/insights.

How you will make an impact:

Sales

  • Develop and implement a strategic Sales Plan to achieve revenue targets for all Wiley products of interest in the education channel in North.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales target and continue to grow Wiley Indias revenue by closely working with the team members on academic calling in Universities, Institutions ensuring all Wiley front-list and backlist products are promoted along with Wiley e-texts in the region.
  • Liaison with the channel – dealers, distributors, booksellers, and the supply chain to ensure smooth supply of Wiley products in the market and grow business with the channel in North.
  • Work with sales team members in the region to write data-oriented sales plans driving growth and revenue.
  • Meet the Universitys Vice Chancellors, and Academic Deans to understand institutional priorities, the future of education and cultivate relationships with them. Strategic thinking and planning around how Wiley can partner with key institutions in the region.
  • Work with the north sales team members to ensure all reporting of institutional and dealer/bookseller visits/calling and any other activity in SFDC. Share SFDC dashboards showing stages of revenue, new and retained revenue and other dashboards as required with the management regularly.
  • Collaborate actively with the Product and Marketing teams – sharing market data, information, understanding products, helping to prepare marketing and product plans.
  • Data-driven discussions and decisions with the team and the management.
  • Gather and share information on competition activity and market insights on a regular basis

Planning, organization, and prioritization

  • Thoroughly and carefully plan all sales activity on a yearly and three-month rolling basis and submit a plan to the National Sales Head.
  • Structured meetings/conversations with the Manager and Management to discuss plans, activity, results, market share, and competitor intelligence.
  • Sharing of adoptions reports highlighting new and retained adoptions each month.
  • Sales training to the sales team as required.

CRM systems management

  • Ensure that self and the team is using SFDC to the fullest entering all opportunities with contacts, course names, stage daily/weekly.
  • Create dashboards to showcase activity, opportunity pipeline, business closed, revenue earned, new and retained business, frontlist sales, revenue potential.

Product Knowledge

  • Ensure self and all members of the team have thorough knowledge of Wiley products and their USP for appropriate product pitching to the customers.
  • Share knowledge about high performing product with sales, product and marketing teams in order to reinforce the revenue potential awareness of others. Nurture a revenue-first perspective for Frontlist / Backlist.
  • Apply deep product knowledge to shape solutions and meet customer needs.
  • Adopt knowledge and creativity to succeed in complex selling scenarios.

What we look for:

  • Previous experience in an academic sales role as a Sales Manager/Regional Sales Manager.
  • Outstanding and proven academic sales track record, team management skills, business acumen.
  • Competent and efficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong oral and written English skills
  • Good level of numeracy essential along with accuracy and attention to detail
