Job description

We are searching for an Application Support Engineer. On this role you will encompass the first- and second-line support, application administration, vendor liaison and basic authorship of supporting documentation for a specific set of engineering/ operational applications.

Responsibilities


  • Provide initial support for: user administration activities, reporting of application status and issues, troubleshooting application issues, incl. data ingress /egress
  • Issue escalation to support vendors and facilitating issue resolution in accordance with commercial vendor agreements
  • Ensure system availability
  • Maintain application configurations
  • Maintain application documentation such as User guides or supporting technical information
  • Provide application maintenance activities: applying system updates such as application patches, database scripts and migrations, ensuing data integration links are operational and interfacing with technical teams for infrastructure support (e.g. backups and application of system patches), and cyber security tasks
  • Oversee and carry out assigned work with particular emphasis on product quality
  • Perform all duties with due regard to the health, safety of self, others and of the environment in which they are undertaken
  • Ensure that assigned tasks are delivered to a high standard, in a timely manner and in line with product requirements


Requirements


  • Experience with Aveva PI Administration, configuration and system maintenance
  • Fundamental SQL database administration
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • B2+ English level proficiency


Nice to have


  • A degree in a technical discipline and/or an ITIL qualification
  • Previous experience in oil & gas and/or engineering environment
  • Previous experience with Aveva PI data integrations for visualizations and reporting
