Job description

Based in Washington, D.C., Quorum is a fast-growing software company and is the leading provider of workflow software and information services for government affairs professionals across the corporations, non-profits, associations, and governmental end-markets.  Quorum allows users to manage stakeholder engagement, launch grassroots advocacy campaigns, and track legislative activity at all levels of government, including federal, state and local.

Quorum provides mission-critical solutions to public affairs professionals for their work in Congress, all 50 state legislatures, major U.S. cities, the European Union, and 30+ countries around the globe. Quorum serves over 2,000 customers globally including over 50% of the Fortune 100, and has over 350 team members across the globe. The company recently acquired Capitol Canary, a market leader in grassroots advocacy software.

As our Deal Desk Specialist, you will be the go to expert and leader on configuring, pricing, quoting, and closing deals for Quorum’s client subscriptions, bringing together colleagues from across the organization to establish and apply consistent rules and make the sales process more efficient. You will be responsible for ensuring that Quorum delights our clients by providing an accurate, transparent, and timely contract review and approval process, and that our sales team performs at a high level by efficiently selling and closing deals that serve our clients’ needs and Quorum’s business goals.

What You'll Do

  • First week: You'll learn Quorum’s products and pricing rules as well as the ins and outs of Quorum’s Salesforce-based Quote and Subscription Agreement processes, gain exposure to our client’s perspective on our contract workflow, and get to know Quorum’s tight-knit Sales Operations team, which is a unit of the Business Development function headed by our Chief Sales Officer.
  • First month: You will begin to advise sales team members on the configuration and pricing of deals and review sales documentation when deals close to verify accuracy of information including, but not limited to, contract terms, billing information, pricing, and consistency with company policies.
  • First 6 months: You will learn the context necessary to support the Deal Desk Analyst during high-volume periods to complete technical risk assessments and review draft Quotes in Salesforce. You will take ownership of Quorum’s complete product price list. You will centralize and modify deal close workflows to improve the accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of Quorum’s deal  process for our team members, clients, and vendors. You will conduct a Quality Assurance Audit on 100% of active client subscriptions and vendor agreements. Through this process, you will document and remediate any errors identified (e.g., contract covers a 366 day “annual” period instead of a 365 day “annual” period, contract references outdated technical specifications, etc.).
  • First year: You will also work with sales, customer success, finance, and product to build the foundational processes for a high-performing Deal Desk that can quickly review and close high-value new logo and renewal customers with unique circumstances (e.g., special pricing, product commitment, etc.).

About You

  • You consider attention to detail to be one of your signature strengths. In a room full of 1,000 professionals, you would feel comfortable raising your hand to indicate that you are in the Top 5% in terms of overall attention to detail—and your previous colleagues would agree!
  • You have honed the ability to creatively apply logic and business standards to solve an unfamiliar problem.
  • You are comfortable making sense of technical, legal, and procurement jargon and navigating commercial processes.
  • You have some professional experience working with commercial contracts in a business environment or working on or adjacent to a Sales Operations team with a Deal Desk function.
  • You care deeply about being a part of building an inclusive, supportive, and diverse team environment.
  • You will stand out if you have experience with Federal contracts or have a Federal certification (e.g., DAWIA), security clearance, or military background.
  • You will stand out if you have experience working with Salesforce CPQ and/or revenue management software, such as SaaS Optics or NetSuite.
  • You are a superstar if you have previous experience in a Deal Desk role.

About the Sales Operations Team

  • We take pride in keeping the metaphorical train on its track at a high-growth start-up.
  • We are the resident subject matter experts on business operations—our team covers sales operations, and finance.
  • We believe that precedent is not best practice—we are constantly striving to improve our own workflow. In doing so, we live by Quorum’s growth principles to Take the Lead and Own the Execution.
  • We pay attention to the details and have pride in the work we do, knowing that our team helps provide peace of mind to our team members, clients, and vendors.
  • We're close as a company—we work together, spend time together, and value each others' ideas and input.

Our Work Environment

  • We are a remote-first team with flexible work options: work remotely, or you may choose to come into our office in Belo Horizonte.
  • Our team loves to spend time doing fun things outside of the office - both together and remote, which we call Quorum Fun events. Past Quorum Fun events have included apple picking, yoga, virtual art classes and wine tasting.
