Opportunity Overview
 

Seeking an experienced Sales Engineer in our Defense & Aerospace business unit in UK. In this role you will be assigned to develop and manage Defense & Aerospace functional test equipment sales to UK aerospace/defense accounts and UK MoD. The successful candidate must be experienced at the selling profession and must work independently and as part of a cross functional team. This person must be assertive, self-directed, professional, confident and able to work with others without a great deal of supervision.

  • Selling and positioning Teradyne products and services directly to UK MoD customers and OEM suppliers.
  • Maintaining existing and establishing new strong/solid relationships with customers.
  • Managing sales activities associated with the assigned accounts and if needed assist the Teradyne support team with their activities.
  • Executing and managing the competitive sales process as a team leader.
  • Create and lead implementation of individual sales strategies using team strategic tools to gain market share within assigned accounts.
  • Communicating and integrating account strategy with support, program management and divisional organizations.
  • Prospecting and qualifying new business opportunities for existing and new products.
  • Organize and lead responses to competitive Request for Quotes
  • Managing and interpreting customer (technical and business) related requirements
  • Providing quotations for products and services and may lead the negotiation process.
  • Coordinating and hosting customers meetings at Teradyne sites and customer locations.
  • Develops and implements strategy for gaining market share in accounts or target military segment.
  • Participate and lead the Internal Customer Focus Teams to address customer needs and business objectives.
  • Participate in negotiating contract content including terms and conditions.
  • Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other UK MoD events.
  • Meeting assigned sales quota and regular sales targets/goals.

 

Your Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, Engineering Science or related military degree/experience is required.
  • Additional business or technical degrees are preferred.
  • 5 to 15 years of experience in selling technical products in the aerospace / military related environment.
  • Capital Equipment Sales Experience in creating and implementing sales strategies using strategic selling tools
  • Ability to develop strong relationships at all levels within the customer organizations
  • Proven Track record in competing and developing new business
  • Have some familiarity with the military or UK MoD process including contracting, planning, requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, training and life cycle support.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with military customers (both orally and in writing).
  • Position will require obtaining UK security clearance.
