Position: Product Manager

Position Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Opportunity:

In your role as Product Manager, you will support the Advertising team and our initiatives to better monetize and optimize our content and sites in alignment with our business goals. You will get deep into the weeds when it comes to understanding your product catalog, bringing to market new ideas/ad formats that will attract advertisers as well as building on established tech to constantly improve performance.

Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director, Product – Advertising Operations, and working with key business stakeholders, you will:

  • Develop and manage your product roadmaps based on sound understanding of the market, competition, and user needs.
  • Plan and launch new products and features, test performance and iterate to stay ahead of industry benchmarks.
  • Attend grooming/sprint planning sessions with the Advertising, Content, and Engineering teams to scope and assign work, prioritize development tickets, and support technical teams in the QA/test process as it pertains to your products and the ad tech requirements.
  • Support in leading a variety of platform migrations.
  • Remain current on advertiser needs, market drivers, and our competition within the digital media landscape to gain key insights and help us plan for tomorrow, working closely with and aligning with cross-functional initiatives.
  • Present results & quarterly benchmarks to all impacted stakeholders and lead conversations to identify best practices, issues, and make performance improvements across our digital advertising network.
  • Continue to innovate and optimize products by participating in the overall strategic roadmap planning in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualification & Skills:

  • Post-secondary degree with business/advertising discipline preferred.
  • 4-6 years in product and development management, digital media/ad operations preferred.
  • Experience in digital display, video, audio, e-newsletter, e-paper, mobile app, and feeds advertising – front-end and back-end, industry best practices, optimization tactics.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Google Ad Manager 360 and other ad serving platforms.
  • Experience operating in Agile processes, JIRA, and sprint planning.
  • Familiar with analytic tools (Looker, Tableau, BigQuery, Lighthouse, Google Analytics) and setting KPIs against projects, gathering metrics to inform strategy and product next-steps.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented decision maker who strives to find solutions in collaboration with others.
  • Effective communication & presentation skills with the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Independently motivated and good team player.
