Job Overview

We are in search of an accomplished Government Mortgage Underwriter to join our innovative team in a fully remote capacity. This role is ideal for a professional who is dedicated to guiding clients through their mortgage experiences and possesses a robust background in underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough underwriting of new loan file submissions with a focus on precision and detail.
Independently review and resolve conditions to facilitate an efficient underwriting workflow.
Maintain meticulously organized and comprehensive loan files throughout the underwriting process.
Make autonomous decisions regarding loan approvals, suspensions, or declines.
Ensure that all underwritten loans comply with established policies and procedures for marketability.

Required Skills

A minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience.
Familiarity with Encompass is advantageous.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting protocols.
Acquainted with DU/LP and manual underwriting practices.
Possession of DE/LAPP/SAR/VA certifications is required.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of relevant underwriting experience in the mortgage sector.
