Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Clinician to become an integral part of our remote team. In this influential role, you will provide personalized counseling support to individuals engaged in Methadone, Outpatient, and Federal programs. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to coordinate comprehensive patient services, ensuring exceptional care for men, women, youth, and families on their journey toward recovery from substance use disorders (SUD).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored counseling services to all contracted programs, creating a nurturing and engaging atmosphere for patients.
  • Perform comprehensive bio-psychosocial and ASAM assessments at the time of admission to identify the most suitable level of care for each individual.
  • Maintain meticulous clinical documentation, including daily treatment encounters and billing, utilizing the Methasoft and AVATAR EHR systems.
  • Manage a caseload of up to thirty-two patients, ensuring the confidentiality of clinical records and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness of agency services and improve access to recovery resources.
  • Collaborate respectfully with patients and team members, empowering patients in their care decisions.
  • Monitor treatment progress and address obstacles to recovery by connecting patients with appropriate resources.
  • Assist counselors in group therapy and psycho-educational sessions when required, and provide case management services as needed.
  • Engage in supervision with counseling staff and attend all mandatory training and administrative meetings.
  • Adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and comply with all relevant policies and regulations.

Required Skills

  • In-depth understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based practices for addressing substance use disorders and mental health challenges.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to produce clear and precise clinical documentation.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid California Class ‘C’ Driver’s License is mandatory at the time of appointment.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health discipline.
  • Current licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC), or registration as an Associate (e.g., AMFT, ASW, APCC) with an active commitment to obtaining licensure.
  • Preferred: Minimum of two years of post-graduate experience in mental health counseling, particularly with populations involved in the criminal justice system.

Compensation And Benefits
