Job Overview

Join our esteemed organization as a Senior Tax Accountant, where you will be an integral part of our highly skilled tax team, working remotely while contributing to our commitment to excellence in tax compliance. Your role will encompass overseeing all facets of income tax compliance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations. Your invaluable expertise will not only refine our tax processes but also provide exceptional support to both our team and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive schedules for federal, state, and local income tax compliance, including state and city apportionment for our consolidated federal group.
  • Develop and manage schedules for federal and state tax compliance while overseeing capital accounts for various partnership returns.
  • Assist with transfer pricing modeling using advanced Excel tools.
  • Compile supporting schedules for corporate income tax accounting in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Review fixed asset records to support tax depreciation calculations.
  • Conduct thorough research and document conclusions as necessary.
  • Aid in the review of workpapers for compliance and quarterly estimates.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks outlined in the Tax Calendar and maintain its accuracy.
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures with diligence.
  • Assist with audits and inquiries from federal, state, and local authorities regarding income and non-income taxes.
  • Collaborate on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and audits.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions and process enhancements, focusing on data capture at the source.
  • Engage in various projects as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and automated tax preparation software (familiarity with CorpTax is advantageous).
  • Experience with general ledger software (preferably SAP) and depreciation software (FAS experience is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent customer service and organizational capabilities.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong time management skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (a Master’s degree or CPA designation is preferred).
  • CPA certification or enrolled agent status is advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a tax or accounting role; exceptional Excel skills are highly valued.
