Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Data Platform Software Engineer specializing in RaptorDB Provisioning to join our innovative team. This remote role is focused on developing advanced tools that manage and operate databases within our data centers, contributing to our global leadership in AI-enhanced technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement user-friendly, scalable solutions for operating PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and refine detailed requirements.
  • Develop high-quality, reusable, and scalable code while adhering to software engineering best practices such as code reviews and unit testing.
  • Take full ownership of your work lifecycle, encompassing design, implementation, automation testing, and final delivery.
  • Engage in knowledge-sharing and collaboration with team members across Europe and the USA.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in managing production databases, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.
  • Experience working with senior technical stakeholders to address complex challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux, including its internal workings.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, especially in root cause analysis within production settings.
  • Familiarity with programming tools such as Ruby, Puppet, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with CI/CD systems like Jenkins or TeamCity.
  • A strong passion for collaboration with distributed teams across various time zones.
  • Exceptional analytical, design, communication, and self-management skills.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in backend development.
  • Experience with Linux environments such as CentOS or RedHat.
  • Knowledge of Ruby, Puppet, Python, or Go is advantageous.
  • Significant database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle.

Compensation And Benefits

For positions based in California (outside of the Bay Area), the base salary ranges from \(149,200 to \)261,200, in addition to potential equity and variable compensation.
