Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement user-friendly and scalable software solutions for managing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment.
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify and clarify detailed requirements for database provisioning tools.
  • Produce high-quality, reusable code while adhering to established best practices in software engineering, including code reviews and unit testing.
  • Assume full responsibility for the entire lifecycle of your projects, encompassing design, implementation, test automation, and delivery.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing within a globally distributed team, working closely with colleagues across Europe and the USA.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in managing production databases, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, or Oracle.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in collaborating with senior technical stakeholders to address and resolve complex challenges.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Linux systems, including internal functionalities.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, especially in root cause analysis within production settings.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and tools such as Ruby, Puppet, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies and tools like Jenkins or TeamCity.
  • An enthusiasm for working within a collaborative atmosphere that spans multiple time zones.
  • Exceptional analytical, design, communication, and self-management abilities.
