Job description

Overview:

SRI International is looking for an Associate Accountant to be an integral contributor to our finance and business operations. This role will have a broad range of responsibilities, including aspects of the monthly close, GL management, and tax compliance and reporting. The individual in this position must possess great attention to detail, strong financial acumen, a high aptitude for technology and financial systems, and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic environment. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and is a remote work opportunity.

Responsibilities:

Assist in labor posting process weekly.
Assist with preparation of annual timekeeping training materials and track training completion status.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations that are complete, accurate, and fully supported by appropriate evidence in compliance with U.S. GAAP and other accounting regulations.
Review, prepare and upload journal entries submitted by various teams outside of finance.
Review and prepare biweekly Payroll related journal entries, monthly Payroll account reconciliations and reports and analysis as required.
Assist and review month and quarter-end close activities. Research discrepancies, coding errors and other issues.
Prepare various tax forms.
Prepare monthly sales tax calculation.
Perform monthly various tax reconciliations.
Provide support for various audits and tax filings.
Conduct special research and projects for the Finance and Tax team and other ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

2 - 4 years of experience in accounting and finance with complex structures
Experience with accounting systems, such as Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, preferred
Demonstrated experience with general ledger, journal entry preparation, monthly & annual close processes
Knowledge of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, & variance analysis
A strong team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude who drives process improvements to increase effectiveness of the team and minimize room for errors
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Ability to creatively translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable conclusions
Tax experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The salary range is: $25.00-$31.24/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
