Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage complex financial environments. You will be responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic guidance to clients while ensuring their financial records are accurate, compliant, and aligned with best practices.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Client Financial Management:
    • Oversee and manage the financial operations for multiple clients, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
    • Review financial reports and supporting documentation for accuracy prior to submission to clients.
    • Familiarize yourself with all accounts on your team and be able to cover deliverables if necessary.
  • Client Advisory:
    • Build and nurture trusted advisor relationships with clients, ensuring professional and reliable communication.
    • Provide clients with strategic financial advice and insights to help them improve their financial performance and make informed decisions.
    • Perform periodic scope reviews of assigned accounts for accuracy and growth opportunities.
    • Ensure that client requests are resolved and communicated in a timely manner to internal and external parties.
    • Communicate with new clients during implementation to ensure proper onboarding.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for clients in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Period-End Close: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes for multiple clients, ensuring all financial data is processed, reviewed, and reported.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with clients to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support their strategic goals.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures for clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with internal and external tax professionals to ensure clients meet their tax compliance obligations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor internal accounting staff, ensuring they provide high-quality service to clients and maintain accurate financial records. 
Qualifications:
The right candidate will be a team player in a small business environment. They will communicate effectively with other team members at all levels of the organization, contribute to positive morale, and help maintain positive relationships with partners and clients.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience.
  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and MS Excel.
  • Has an incredibly high bar; constantly and consistently drives for excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Experience in managing multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Well-versed at operating in a fast-paced, community environment.
  • High comfort level working remotely; ability to communicate well within a distributed team.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and regulations.
Additional Details:
  • This position is full-time and remote (work-from-home), with one annual in-person company-wide meeting.
  • While work schedules can be flexible based on location, please note that all team members are required to work during our core business hours of 9am-2pm PST, Monday-Friday.
