Psychologist - Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS) 


  • $5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus
  • Possibility for 100% remote OR Hybrid in Amherst, NS Clinic
  • Salaried and fee-for-service options (full-time permanent /part-time permanent or contract) 

 

Lifemark is excited about our new partnership with Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), the national contractor for the administration and delivery of all medical, psycho-social and vocational rehabilitation services.  This offers a greater opportunity to have a more consistent approach to care that is holistic and integrated, improving experiences for both providers and Participants. The new model will ensure common functional goals among providers and standardized treatment outcomes to better support rehabilitation success. 

The intent of our Rehabilitation Program is to provide effective Veteran-centered care that responds to the medical, psycho-social and vocational rehabilitation needs of eligible Canadian Forces Veterans. The goal is to help reduce barriers in relation to a participant’s eligible health problem(s) and to help adjust to life at home, in community or at work. The rehabilitation plan is intended to be short term and goal-focused, to restore function to the extent possible. 

 

Education and licensure 

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university  
  • Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (competency with adult populations; clinical (asset: counselling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology)
  • Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment 

 

Applied experience  

  • Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning 
  • Providing various evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches  
  • Developing and evaluating mental health programs is considered an asset 
  • Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third party payers is considered an asset 
  • Utilizing telehealth/virtual care methods is considered an asset

  • Developing new mental health program content for the unique needs of various client groups 
  • Leveraging novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics  
  • Bringing your unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and psycho-social resource building 
  • Delivering individual and group treatment for conditions including anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, adjustment and interpersonal issues within the person’s psycho-social context
