Job description

An international consulting company specialising in development cooperation is seeking a Business Development Administrator with a keen interest in the development sector. This is a permanent, full-time role that offers flexibility and a hybrid work arrangement, with 2-3 days spent in the office and the remainder working remotely. While a background in development is advantageous, it is not essential.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and manage proposal administration.
  • Coordinate the bidding process and develop bid templates.
  • Communicate with partner organisations to obtain required documentation and provide necessary information when they lead bids.
  • Liaise with clients to gather clarifications and additional information regarding bids.
  • Format final documents and ensure they are bound and presented according to client specifications.
  • Ensure timely submission of EOIs and proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to ensure relevant information is efficiently shared within the company.
  • Maintain the company database of projects, proposal texts, consultants, and partners.
  • Build and foster relationships with clients, partners, and associates.
  • Keep project officers, consultants (internal & external), and partners informed about projects won and lost.
  • Provide project assistance as time permits.
  • Offer general administrative support when required.


Requirements
  • Degree-level education (non-negotiable).
  • Knowledgeable or passionate about development, with a preference for those who have hands-on experience in cooperative initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy workload.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Initiative to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Proven track record in preparing proposal administrative documents is desirable. 


Benefits

Salary: R 17 000 - R 20 000
