Software Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:

As a software engineer, you know that good software is more than just a nice-looking interface and data. You need the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We’re looking for a software engineer like you to develop efficient and effective software, from vision to production-ready system, in an exciting, agile environment. 

As a software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver complete end-to-end solutions to your clients. Using your software engineering expertise, you’ll analyze the environment to ensure that your team’s solutions consider the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You’ll sharpen your skills as you master new tools and techniques while helping to identify and implement system improvements.

Working with our clients, we are defining the next generation of software environments supporting some of the most important programs for the United States Space Force. In this position, you will lead an agile team charged with executing a network and software project that transforms portions of Space Force infrastructure. Your leadership will ride on your expert technical background, Scrum product expertise, and an overall knowledge of streaming and throughput of large networking implementations. You Have:   

  • Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods  
  • Experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks  
  • Experience with Agile methodology and Scrum Management software engineering, product management, and software products 
  • Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications 
  • Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization 
  • Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team 
  • Knowledge of streaming technologies and their implementation
  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance 
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance 
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in software engineering, or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree 

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience with administration of continuous integration or continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub actions, or similar tools
  • Secret clearance 
  • Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
