Job description

Clario is looking for a dedicated and hands-on QA Engineer to lead the engineering of software quality for our product or service groups. This role involves managing a team of software quality engineers, technicians, and support personnel, with a strong focus on automation and QA processes. The ideal candidate will provide direction, assign tasks, and coordinate the work of the QA team within a fast-paced, Agile development environment. They will also oversee project estimation, task management, documentation, and collaboration with product owners and department management to resolve technical challenges and ensure the integration of deliverables. Additionally, the QA Engineer will conduct risk-based analysis, execute test scripts, and participate in customer audits to provide quality assurance expertise and direction. What you'll do

  • Provides direction, assign tasks and coordinate the work of QA team members in the context of a fast-paced, Agile development process.

  • Coordinates a formal process of estimating the scope and duration of testing projects.  Establishes milestones, timelines and maintains progress reporting.

  • Oversees completion of tasks of the QA team on time and within budget.  Resolves prioritization and assignment issues and provides performance mentorship to team members.

  • Assists in writing software requirements and design documents, test scripts and traceability matrices.

  • Creates and maintains functional specifications for study-specific implementations of Clario products and services. Author of test plans and summaries to support testing methodologies 

  • Collaborates with the product owner and department management to resolve technical challenges and remove process obstacles to insure integration of the deliverables inside and outside the organization upon release.

  • Provides risk-based analysis on test coverage and execution.

  • Executes test scripts including detailed documented results and screen shots.

  • Participates in customer audits and provides quality assurance expertise and direction to project.

What we look for

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field

  • Knowledge of computer systems validation requirements for clinical research technologies a plus

  • Knowledge of FDA Regulations surrounding 21 CFR Part 11 and cGxP a plus

  • Experience in build automation and test automation technologies a plus

  • Experience with Java, Selenium, Groovy, SQL

  • Demonstrable experience in professional software development as part of a structured software engineering function following a disciplined development life cycle.

  • Experience testing SOA based applications a plus

  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and the ability to analyze the SQL data are required

  • Previous experience in Agile, team-based product development is preferred

  • Experience with cloud-based and SaaS products is a plus

  • Experience in the clinical research or healthcare industry is a plus

  • Ability to execute and deliver to tight guidelines and schedules

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English
