Job description

Overview:

The Strategic Program Manager is responsible for driving the execution of the company’s most strategic technology projects ensuring successful execution.  The Program Manager drives overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for the quality and completeness of project deliverables
  • Lead the planning and implementation of critical technology and associated business process reengineering projects
  • Facilitate the definition and approval of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements (resources, roles, skills)
  • Develop full scale project plans and schedules
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff (allocation, assignments, availability, status and time reporting)
  • Establish and manage project budget
  • Define, track and deliver project milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders, effectively highlighting issues, potential resolution and recommendations
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Conduct post-project evaluations and assessment of results
Qualifications:
  • Requires 2+ years of management consulting experience
  • Qualification in project management or equivalent
  • Knowledge of practical aspects of project management
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in infrastructure
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic IT project/program management in a fast paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired
  • Proven working knowledge of PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge); hands on experience delivering IT projects leveraging industry aligned tools and processes.
  • Experience working in a structured PMO, desire to drive consistency and support broad PM standardization a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
  • Agile experience preferred
  • Project management process improvement experience
  • Proven ability to scale delivery approach to different sizes and types of projects, environments and industries.
