Job description

Product Manager - 6 month Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to work within our marketplace squad in our South African business on a 6 month fixed term contract. The role will be for duration of 6 months (with the potential to extend) as a maternity cover placement.

What you’ll do:
  • Build strategy for your initiative which supports the overall product strategy
  • Create a feasible and viable roadmap to enable the marketplace team and ClearScore’s continued growth.
  • Analyse and produce clear and concise requirements (user stories) with detailed acceptance criteria
  • Work across our multi-functional Agile teams to turn opportunities into outcomes, early-stage sketches into code.
  • Be the servant-leader for the team and an advocate for Agile methodologies - leading the collaboration between subject matter experts, commercial team, designers, QA, and developers.
  • Emphasize outcomes over outputs, setting clear goals for your teams through OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).

What will make you successful at ClearScore:
  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to extract and utilize insights to guide decision-making.
  • Comfort in engaging at all levels, debating ideas, and making informed decisions.
  • Strong focus and clarity in managing the product experience and backlog, adept at prioritizing tasks based on impact and feasibility.
  • A natural collaborator who navigates functional, structural, and hierarchical barriers to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, balancing speed and quality to know when to delve deep and when to iterate quickly.
  • You develop a deep understanding of your product's problem space and autonomously use qualitative and quantitative techniques to generate insights
  • You participate and suggest discovery areas. In relatively unambiguous problems, you lead the discovery process and utilise different frameworks
  • You create and then own an ambitious roadmap and OKRs for your team which are clearly connected to the company strategy and mission.
  • Passionate and excited by the unknown and what we can achieve here at ClearScore.

Why ClearScore?

ClearScore is currently the biggest marketplace for credit products in the UK and in South Africa with over 15 million users. We are the first company to facilitate access to credit products using Open Banking data, making credit accessible to users with no credit files or low credit scores. In the UK alone, we have established relationships with over 50 of the main lenders and have been a trusted tool for customers to manage their credit and make better financial decisions.

We were the first business to offer free credit reports. We did so because we are user-centric at our core and believe in leveraging on technology to enable positive financial choices. We are design-led and data driven and we embed these behaviours in everything we do.

Our company culture is a fundamental part of all we have achieved. We believe in hiring smart, driven, passionate and diverse people who are keen on having a real impact in our organisation. We trust you to manage your own time, so we offer flexible work and no fixed desk hours. We don't micromanage and believe in measuring outcomes rather than effort. We have an inclusive culture where all, regardless of seniority, are encouraged to contribute with their ideas, look after their wellbeing and actively seek opportunities for career growth.

If you feel like this could be the place for you, apply and our Talent team will be happy to share more.
