Expert Business Analyst - Utility Sector Consultant

Celerity has an opening for an Expert Business Analyst Consultant specializing in the Utility Sector, you will bring advanced analytical and strategic expertise to provide consultancy services to utility organizations. In this role, you will collaborate with clients to identify business needs, elicit requirements, and analyze data to drive informed decision-making. Your objective is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of utility operations through insightful analysis and the implementation of data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

Requirements Elicitation and Problem Analysis:
  • Work closely with utility clients to understand business objectives, processes, and challenges.
  • Create Product roadmaps and feature backlog.
  • Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to derive actionable insights and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear and concise findings, providing valuable recommendations for improvement.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvement within utility operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
Technology Solution Evaluation:
  • Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet business needs.
Change Management:
  • Support the development and implementation of change management strategies for process improvements and technology implementations.
  • Provide guidance on overcoming resistance and fostering a positive transition within organizations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and leadership to facilitate effective communication and understanding.
  • Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create clear and concise documentation of business processes, requirements, and analysis findings.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and project progress.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent job related experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a business analyst or consultant specializing in the utility or energy sector.
  • Demonstrated success in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
  • In-depth understanding of utility business processes, regulations, and industry-specific challenges.
  • Familiarity with energy distribution systems, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and smart grid technologies.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Effective people skills to build and maintain relationships with clients, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
  • Basic project management skills or experience in coordinating project activities.
  • Understanding of change management principles and experience in supporting process improvements.
  • Proficient in creating clear and concise documentation of business processes, requirements, and analysis findings.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Additional certifications or advanced degrees in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with data science concepts and tools to enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, or IBM ERP systems and how they are used at utilities.
  • Experience with SAP Signavio Business Suite.
  • SAP Signavio certifications preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of technology solutions and their applications in the utility sector.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT, and operations.
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations or associations related to business analysis or the utility sector.
  • Experience in public speaking, presenting at conferences, or contributing to thought leadership in the utility sector.
  • Experience in managing relationships with technology vendors and evaluating third-party solutions.
  • Understanding of asset and work management and experience in optimizing processes for enhanced employee experience.
Salary:
  •  $120,000 - $140,000 per year DOE
