Solution Architect

Fully Remote - UK

About this role

We're partnering with a leading telecoms services organisation to architect the next generation of their trade settlement platform. This is a major transformation project, replacing legacy infrastructure with a modern, flexible architecture designed to handle secure messaging and settlement services across multiple industries.

Your Responsibilities

As a Solution Architect, you'll design and oversee the implementation of a new modular, service-oriented architecture. You'll create the roadmap for transitioning from physical HSMs to virtualised environments, implement API-first design principles, and ensure the platform maintains stringent security and compliance requirements. You'll develop the migration strategy using a 'strangler fig' approach while ensuring zero disruption to critical financial services.

About You

We're looking for passionate technologists who enjoy working in collaborative agile teams. You'll need:

Proven experience architecting high-volume financial platforms
Deep understanding of secure messaging protocols and standards (ISO15022/ISO20022)
Experience designing systems requiring non-repudiation and regulatory compliance
Strong knowledge of cryptography, HSMs, and security architecture
Track record of successful legacy system modernisation
Experience with service-oriented architecture and API-first design
Understanding of cloud-native principles and virtualisation strategies
Ability to balance innovation with stability in mission-critical systems
