Job Summary 

As a Systems Engineer at Spirit, you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting and improving the quality, efficiency, and success of internal and external infrastructure. We are seeking an individual with a unique blend of common sense, a strong technical understanding, and the versatility to work seamlessly as part of a team or autonomously. Your role goes beyond a conventional networking engineer role; you’ll be entrusted with solving complex problems within client environments, emphasising efficiency and stability. Collaborating closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, you will ensure that our managed services not only meet but exceed client expectations, contributing to the ongoing improvement and investment in our services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide level 2 technical support and troubleshooting for system-related issues
  • Receive escalated customer calls and emails clarifying requirements in a timely manner
  • Promptly address escalated customer calls and emails by clarifying their requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve system performance problems, in internal and client environments
  • Ensure customer Service Level Agreements (SLA) and customer expectations are met
  • Respond promptly to service outages and incidents, implementing effective remediation measures to minimise downtime.
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage and execute network configuration changes, upgrades, and deployments
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients by providing top tier service and support
  • Support both on-premise and cloud hosted Infrastructure for client and internal environments
  • Collaborate with data centre operations teams to coordinate system upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and incident management.
  • Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure solutions for both internal and external client environments.
  • Assist with the stability, security, and scalability of systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate networking solutions with other IT systems and applications.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior networking engineers and other technical resources within the organisation.
  • Adhere to the Spirit policies and procedures, and work with teams to iterate and develop said policies and procedures.



Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in medium to enterprise environments
  • Proven experience in supporting multiple domain environments
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines)
  • Experience with M365 and cloud computing, adhering to industry best practices
  • Familiarity with supporting English-speaking countries
  • Over 3 years of experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems
  • Experience in supporting and managing data center networks
  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization technologies
  • Proficiency with leading networking infrastructure solutions (e.g., Meraki, Fortinet, Sophos, Juniper, Cisco, WatchGuard, MikroTik, Aruba, Ruckus)

  • Microsoft AZ-104
  • Microsoft AZ-700
  • Microsoft AZ-500
  • VMware Certified Technical Associate
  • Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
  • ITIL Certification (highly regarded)
