The role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Accountant to join our Class finance team.

In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager and collaborate with a skilled team of five. You'll engage in a diverse range of responsibilities, including Finance Operations, Management Accounting, Statutory Reporting, and various ad-hoc finance projects.

This full-time position offers the flexibility to be based in either the Gold Coast or Sydney.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare end-of-month management accounts and conduct reconciliations (unearned revenue, debtors, creditors, accrued revenue, merchant fees, and GST).
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and manage debtor accounts.
  • Onboard new clients and support the termination of clients.
  • Address client queries and provide billing support, managing debt collection effectively.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and ensure timely collections.
  • Liaise with Accounts Management, consulting, and support teams for client and billing inquiries.
  • Collaborate on year-end and half-year statutory reporting with external auditors and Head Office.
  • Work with the finance team to produce management and statutory accounts, including tax lodgements.
  • Assist in the implementation of financial systems, including UAT and data validation.
  • Participate in ad-hoc finance projects as needed.

  • Key requirements
  • CA / CPA Qualified (or nearing completion)
  • A minimum of 4 years accounting experience within a public practice or corporate business E.G Business Services, External Audit or Financial Operations Accounting role
  • Intermediate/advanced level Excel skills (vlook ups, index match, pivot tables etc)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including hands on reconciliation skills
  • Methodical, organised and resilient
  • Results driven and can work productively and accurately in a fast paced environment
  • A collaborative team player that can also work independently
