Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a Strategy Manager to join our Group Strategy department on a permanent basis. The role will be based at our London office, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market, competitive, and consumer analyses to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Synthesize complex data to develop actionable insights supporting strategic objectives.

Business Case Development:

  • Assist in creating business cases and financial models to evaluate strategic initiatives.
  • Analyse key drivers, risks, and financial metrics to support investment decisions.

Project Support:

  • Support the Strategy Manager and project teams in planning and executing strategic projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis to meet project objectives and deliverables.

Change Management:

  • Drive organizational change by collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate input gathering and feedback to build consensus around strategic initiatives.
  • Use effective communication to align and garner support for strategic priorities.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Enhance strategic frameworks and tools for better planning and decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to drive organizational excellence.

Industry Research:

  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Monitor competitors and market dynamics to identify strategic opportunities and threats.

Presentation Development:

  • Create visually compelling presentations to communicate strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure cohesive and impactful presentations.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging and design, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  • Stay updated on best practices in presentation design and storytelling.

 

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in thought leadership, with exposure in strategic planning, business analysis, and project management. 
  • Experience in commercial & sales strategy will be advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, draw insights, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work in MS PowerPoint and Excel with strong quantitative modelling, knowledge of statistical software a plus.
  • Passion for the entertainment industry and a desire to contribute to the success of Merlin Entertainments' strategic initiatives.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
