How You Can Make a Difference
As a Senior Product Owner at HealthEquity, you will be a key contributor to the successful development and delivery of an innovative health engagement and incentives solution. Our platform drives improved health outcomes for employees and health plan members by identifying the next best action for each individual and engaging them in taking that step.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners to define product capabilities, prioritize roadmaps, and ensure that business goals are translated into technical outcomes.
Your role is crucial in aligning product initiatives with real-world customer needs, enhancing user experiences, and driving value across our product portfolio.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with Product Managers to understand market demands, product strategy, and priorities.
- Lead and support key product initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring successful execution of product roadmaps.
- Own and manage the product backlog, working with engineering and cross-functional teams to prioritize features and user stories aligned with business goals.
- Act as the primary source for user story details and priorities, ensuring clarity and alignment with overall product strategy.
- Partner with engineering leadership to ensure architectural roadmap items are prioritized and delivered in product releases.
- Drive the Agile product development process, ensuring the timely delivery of high-value releases that meet customer expectations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute beta programs and gather customer feedback for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the product subject matter expert (SME), bridging communication between engineering and other departments to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- Participate in all phases of product planning, development, and release cycles, ensuring smooth execution and consistent alignment with customer needs.
- Lead user story creation, documentation, and acceptance criteria development, ensuring quality and alignment with product vision.
- Support the management of Agile processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adaptability.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Agile Product Ownership, with demonstrated success in managing product backlogs, user stories, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to lead product initiatives, prioritize work, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical understanding and attention to detail, with experience working closely with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate product requirements, user stories, and business value to diverse audiences.
- Experience with user story creation, flow modeling, and Agile processes, with knowledge of Scrum and SAFe methodologies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and business insight to make data-driven prioritization decisions.
- Strong customer orientation, with a passion for improving user experiences and driving product adoption.
- Ability to adapt to changing business demands and product requirements while maintaining a focus on delivering high-value outcomes.
- Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Aha!, Azure DevOps), as well as common business software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with health benefits, health plans, care providers, healthcare engagement, or incentives and rewards programs.
- Experience working with AI, machine learning, APIs or third party integrations in a product development environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Salary Range:
$109500.00 To $175500.00 / year

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
