LHB is looking for a fully remote Electrical Engineer to help grow our Integrative Design Team. The team focuses on designing high performance buildings and sites for Government, Education, Commercial, and Healthcare clients. Opportunities include working on a wide variety of project types with varying degrees of complexity. Our ideal candidate thrives on problem solving and wants to coordinate within interdisciplinary design teams. This is a remote position where you can work from home within the following states that LHB is licensed to do business: CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA MI, MN, MO, MS, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY

Position Summary

The responsibilities for this exempt position will include but are not limited to:

  • Design of lighting / photometrics, control, and low voltage systems design
  • Design of power distribution interconnection and equipment sizing
  • Conducting field verifications
  • Peer reviewing work completed by others and producing electronic comments
  • Performing short circuit and available fault current calculations
  • Completing construction administration tasks
  • Interacting with clients (internal and external)
  • Preparing written reports and project documents
  • Writing and editing project specifications utilizing CSI Master Format
  • Ensuring LHB QA/QC processes are followed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 5+ years’ experience in the design and construction industry
  • Professional Engineer in MN or WI (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Knowledge of Electrical codes, standards, concepts, and design
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership ambitions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Construction observation experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge/familiarity in Revit and/or BIM software
  • Experience writing and/or modifying Specifications
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems design
  • RCDD certification

Salary Range

  • This position’s anticipated base salary range is $85,000-$105,000 annually. Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
