Job description

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Research Intern to support our research initiatives focused on substance use disorders, young adults, and justice-involved adults. This is a paid, remote position that requires 6-12 hours of work per week.  This remote internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in research methodologies while contributing to meaningful projects that impact community health and recovery.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support for research projects related to substance use disorders, young adults, and justice-involved adults.
  • Help create engaging materials, including flyers, presentations, and informational tip sheets.
  • Participate in seminars and training sessions covering research ethics, substance use disorders, recovery support services, and the justice system.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions with project teams, focusing on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Meet one-on-one with researchers and staff to explore potential career paths in the field.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in psychology, human services, education, public health, criminal justice, public policy, social work, health economics, or related fields.
  • Personal or professional interest in substance use disorders, recovery support services, or the justice system.
  • Preferred: Lived experience with recovery from substance use or involvement in the adult/juvenile justice system (personal or through close contacts).
