Job description

WHY DEPT®?

We are pioneers at heart. What this means, is that we are always leaning forward, thinking of what we can create tomorrow that does not exist today. We were born digital and we are a new model of agency, with a deep skillset in tech and marketing. That’s why we hire curious, self-driven, talented people who never stop innovating.

Our culture is big enough to cope and small enough to care. Meaning, that with people across 20+ countries, we’re big enough to provide you with the best tools, global opportunities, and benefits that help you thrive. While acting small by investing in you, your growth, your team, and giving you the autonomy to solve our clients' problems, no matter where you are in the world.

This is a fixed term contract (W2) role, for 4 weeks at full time.

The DEPT® Digital Products team is looking for a Senior Product Strategist who will help us build great products with great teams. In this role, you’ll help our clients innovate their products and platforms while sharing your wealth of experience with both client and DEPT® teams. You’ll also broaden your own skill-set as we continue to innovate our own offerings and uplevel our teams.

What will your days be like?

At Digital Products, every project is different and no two days are the same. People rarely get bored because things move fast and we interact with domain experts across a variety of industries. There’s no typical day, but generally speaking, you’ll spend your time doing the following:

Project Execution

  • Facilitate - Guide key client stakeholders in discussion, idea generation, prioritization and consensus-building; sometimes leading a five-day design sprint and other times in a multi-month engagement embedded in a client’s PM team.
  • Research - Plan, lead, and conduct user experience and market research to understand target markets, direct and indirect competition, and innovation opportunities.
  • Synthesize - Identify primary/secondary personas and generate insightful journey maps illustrating key stages/events in product and usage lifecycles.
  • Validate - Pair with designers to conduct concept and usability testing with prototypes that validate key hypotheses.

Domain Leadership

  • Peer Collaboration - Share new frameworks, tools, and skills from your experience with other Deptsters and help improve and grow how we do things here.
  • Plan & Conduct Workshops - Both internally and externally, plan and conduct workshops for teams who need strategic guidance around product development & strategy.

Client & Sales Support

  • Project Extension & Expansion - Support our sales and client account leaders in the planning and delivery of project proposals to existing and prospective clients.

What are we looking for?

  • An experienced strategist that can lead the design and building of successful digital products.
  • You appreciate that problem framing is as important as problem solving.
  • You are adept at synthesizing both business/market and technical information.
  • You are compassionately curious about the motivations of people who use technology.
  • Strong leadership, high emotional intelligence, and an acute ability to help others thrive.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $75 - $90 an hour. Rate is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
