Job Summary

F&G is hiring for an Actuary, Retail Pricing & Design – Annuities.  This position is responsible for the development, design, pricing and risk analysis of F&G’s Annuity products in accordance with established pricing guidelines and profitability targets for Annuity products to achieve F&G’s product strategy.

This position reports directly to the AVP, Retail Pricing & Design Actuary – Annuities and is expected to interact with the Product Development Advisory Team, the Portfolio Product Manager, and the Actuarial and Risk Advisory team as well as others across disciplines and functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with product leadership to deliver product from concept phase through implementation.
  • Responsible for the development and pricing of Annuity products from the concept phase through implementation by:
    • Conducting preliminary pricing to inform concept development
    • Evaluating potential product features, collaborating with Actuarial and Risk Advisory Team, to develop awareness and ensure understanding of implications of design and feature decisions by Actuarial leadership
    • Pricing product, including risk analysis, and creating pricing memorandums for product approval
    • Creating product specifications and support handoff to Implementation team
  • Understanding of product, profitability, capital utilization, and risk to inform design and pricing decisions
  • Build pricing model, create documentation, and hand off model, ensuring appropriate model governance procedures are followed
  • Develop and nurture team engagement, development, and growth
  • Support a risk aware culture within the team
  • Develop enhancements to create repeatable and scalable processes

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related degree or equivalent experience
  • ASA and MAAA certifications; FSA Preferred
  • 5+ years actuarial experience with progressively more responsibility with a concentration on Fixed Indexed Annuities and/or Registered Index Linked Annuities
  • Experience within an Actuarial product development function with a strong understanding of product, pricing, capital utilization, and regulatory requirementsExperience with and knowledge of GGY AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software

  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of leadership, either through verbal or written forms of communication
