Senior BI Developer

Index Analytics is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Developer with relevant expertise in architecting, developing, and maintaining a suite of complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations using COTS BI tools such as MicroStrategy and Cloud native BI products working in a hybrid cloud environment. The Senior BI Developer architects and designs foundational elements for data and reports such as attributes, metrics, hierarchies, and transformations to develop report objects such as interactive dashboards and other operational reports. S/he assists with the data analysis, data discovery and data modeling activities. S/he will be an active contributor within an Agile sprint team and needs to be productive with little supervision and a team player.

Responsibilities

• Designs schema objects such as attributes, facts and filters using Business Objects, or similar tools based on the data analysis,
• Develop reports, dashboards and other data visualizations based on customer requirements applying UI/UX and HCD best practices.
• Works on advanced data visualizations to understand and develop custom data visualization widgets using third part visualizations such as D3 and maintain them.
• Designs and develops Intelligent-cubes and maintains them with timely data refresh process to support continuous operations.
• Works closely with other developers to test and validate reports, dashboards and cubes, which are in O&M
• Works closely with data modelers and ETL developers to develop, review and maintain SQL code and SQL scripts.
• Engage with the Cloud Architect, Shared Systems contractors, and other key stakeholders to develop and deploy BI innovations to enhance operations and derive performance and cost savings.
• Automated testing of report deliverables, and deployments, while supporting DevSecOps and CI/CD initiatives.
• Performs tuning of reports and underlying SQL queries periodically.
• Conduct product demonstrations and assists the trainer and user coach to create, update and maintain training material. 

Qualifications

• US citizen or Authorized to Work and lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years. Must be able to obtain a U.S. Federal government client badge and pass a government Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 10 years of experience as a BI Developer
• Prior experience with Center for Medicare Medicaid Services or other Govt agencies is a plus
• Experience working within a BI environment inside the AWS Cloud is preferred
• Working knowledge of Snowflake database is preferred
• Self-managed with the ability to complete task with little supervision
• Understanding of Section 508 standards and ability to test for them
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot application issues.
• Ability to interact with clients and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Previous experience with SAFe agile principles including JIRA and GitHub
• Strong oral and written communication skills

The salary range provided represents the estimated compensation for new hires in this position, applicable across all locations. Actual offers may vary based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and market conditions.
