ServiceTitan is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of our operating system for the trades. This is an exciting role for an engineer to work primarily on our voice and messaging integrations and APIs. We build for product excellence, use the most modern tools on Microsoft .NET platform, have an amazing culture, and love to solve complex problems. You will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing new features and experiences for the telephony and messaging parts of our product. This will largely involve working in React on the front-end and C# on the back-end, with more time likely spent on back-end than front-end work. You will work with Product, Design, and Quality Assurance to develop scalable, rock-solid, production ready features. You will be expected to iterate rapidly while delivering high-quality output.

What you'll do:

  • Architect, design, and implement telecom and messaging feature functionality.
  • Work with product managers, designers, and engineers to prototype and implement product features.
  • Communicate effectively with other engineers, product managers, customers, and partners.
  • Craft unit and integration testing pipelines to help insure the quality of your code
  • 70% development  / 30% working on requirements, mentorship, supervision.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of industry experience

  • Expert-level knowledge of:

    • Microsoft .NET technology stack (C# / .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Web APIs) and SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server or any other)

    • Continuous integration and continuous delivery methodologies and tools (TeamCity or similar)

    • Experience creating or maintaining JSON Web APIs backed by relational databases in any strongly-typed back end development framework. Should be comfortable with MVC, Dependency Injection and ORM concepts

  • Frontend experience in complex web applications

    • heavy use of core, framework agnostic JavaScript

    • heavy use of one of the well-known UI libraries (React, Angular, Knockout.js, etc.)

    • building reusable UI components

    • interaction with external APIs

    • asynchronous programming + promises

    • solving UI-related performance problems

  • 2+ years of HTML/CSS experience

  • Some experience with container architecture and concepts (docker, kubernetes, etc)

  • Experience working with microservice ecosystems is a plus

  • Experience designing and implementing telephony and SMS / MMS functionality is a plus

  • Experience with Kafka is a plus

  • Ability to use a data-driven approach for product decisions.

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

  • Experience with Git, unit testing, debugging, profiling, Visual Studio, JIRA, and other tools that are typically used by developers on Microsoft technology stack

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $126,000 USD - $182,000 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
