Job description

Who we are:

At Better Life Partners, we provide what it takes to heal from addiction. Wherever. Whenever.

We focus on bringing high quality, accessible and effective tech-enabled care to those with Addiction Disorders, especially those in communities for whom traditional care has been found lacking. We provide evidence-based, scalable, holistic healthcare while working alongside community-based organizations to ensure that our care is accessible, non-punitive and responsive to our communities. We build trusted relationships and healing spaces to nourish Belonging, Love, and Purpose.

Better Life Partners is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape and execute our vision: empowering our clinical teams by engineering software products that help them provide comprehensive services that work best for our members.

The role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Better Life Partners, you’ll be at the forefront of health tech innovation. This isn’t just another engineering gig—you’ll be building the core systems that help patients access treatment, doctors improve care, and providers deliver results. We’re a fast-growing company where your work will have an immediate, measurable impact on improving healthcare outcomes. If you’re a seasoned C#/.NET developer with a love for solving tough technical challenges and a desire to leave your mark on the world, this role is for you!

What you will do:

  • Architect & Build:
    • Own the design, development, and scaling of critical systems in C#/.NET that power our healthcare platform, Ascent.
    • Take charge of new features from brainstorming to deployment, and build secure, high-performance, and scalable applications.
  • Lead & Innovate:
    • Lead complex technical projects, mentor less experienced engineers, and set the bar for coding standards and best practices across the team.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, data, cybersecurity) to deliver seamless, user-centric solutions.
  • Solve Real-World Problems:
    • Tackle healthcare-specific challenges, like HIPAA-compliant data handling, patient data security, and real-time analytics for providers.
    • Push the boundaries of what’s possible in health tech, using your deep knowledge of C#, .NET, and cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Make an Impact:
    • Your code won’t just live in a repo—it’ll be used daily by healthcare professionals to make critical decisions. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of features that directly affect patient care and outcomes.
    • Dive deep into performance optimizations, ensuring our platform is always ready to handle the next wave of growth.
You are a good fit if you have:

  • Technical Mastery:
    • Expert-level experience with C#/.NET, building web applications, APIs, and architectural best practices.
    • Deep familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), including infrastructure as code, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Solid experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with healthcare data systems (FHIR, HL7) is a huge plus.
  • Healthcare Focused:
    • Passion for or experience working in health tech—bonus if you’ve worked with electronic health records, telemedicine platforms, e-prescribing technologies or health data integration.
    • A strong grasp of security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2), with a commitment to protecting patient data.
  • Productivity & Leadership:
    • You’ve led the charge on complex, high-impact projects and know how to break down large problems into manageable pieces.
    • Experience mentoring and leading small teams—you love helping others grow while delivering essential capabilities.
  • Problem Solver:
    • Persistent in the face of roadblocks. You don’t just identify problems—you fix them. You’re the person who finds creative solutions to unlock progress when others are stuck.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Impact That Matters: Your work will directly contribute to making healthcare more accessible and equitable. You’re not just coding—you’re saving lives.
  • Flexibility & Growth: We’re a remote-first company with a flexible working environment. You’ll have opportunities to expand your skills and take on new challenges as we scale. Better Life Partners is committed to career development—we’ll help you grow into the next phase of your career.
  • Exciting Tech: Work with modern, high-performance technologies in C#/.NET, cloud platforms, and data analytics that are transforming healthcare.
  • Build solutions that touch thousands of lives, from patients seeking care to healthcare professionals delivering it.
