Job description

Join us as a QA Engineer (m/f/d) in our Fleet Coordination team on a shared journey that matters!

About the team

Our team enables the efficient, safe and legally compliant utilization of a fleet of different vehicles. That means, we provide information on the status of all vehicles in a fleet, allow update of tasks in a vehicle’s itinerary and manage life-cycle of a vehicle through the completion of tasks assigned to it. This enables fleets to be used for a wide range of use cases, starting with ride-pooling and ride-hailing. To achieve that we are set up as a cross-functional team with its main responsibility being a distributed back-end system. This responsibility makes us an essential part of MOIA’s business model, and it allows us to have a direct impact on the product and company.

MOIA’s service is composed of many different states and you will work on a team at the heart of the Fleet Product. Together with us, you as a QA Engineer, will be responsible for managing these different states and making sure our vehicles are available and can reliably execute the tasks in their itinerary. You will drive the extension of MOIA’s business to autonomous Fleets and for new use cases beyond our traditional ride-pooling business, as well as support the delivery of high profile autonomous driving projects in Europe and the US.

What you will do
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team to ensure quality deliveries throughout the product lifecycle
  • Maintain and improve our end-to-end API test suite, automating tests for our gRPC Fleet API as it grows
  • Explore our API endpoints and microservices through test scripts and debug tools, discovering issues in implementation and design
  • Maintain a smooth integration of our services through integration testing and cross-team cooperation
  • Identify, analyse and keep track of issues, owning the communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor and improve quality metrics and KPIs
  • Support our Product Owners with risk-assessment during the discovery and design of new features, ensuring we keep the user story quality high
  • Own and improve the quality process, enabling the team to implement our shift-left and shift-right principles
  • Support the improvement of bug reproducibility and debug tools
  • Promote a culture of quality in the team, and make them feel confident about releases
What will help you to fulfill your role
  • Experience with agile testing as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Extensive experience with API testing and test automation (gRPC testing experience is a plus!)
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language and interest in learning more
  • Experience with CI Pipelines (Github Actions, Jenkins or similar)
  • Familiarity with analytics/monitoring tools (Grafana/Kibana/etc.) and a willingness to dig through logs to understand the system behavior
  • First contact with Rust or Scala are appreciated, but not required
  • Awareness of Shift-left Principle, Agile Testing Methodology and/or Modern Testing Principles

We encourage you to apply even if your profile does not meet all the requirements for the role since we are looking for a diverse range of experiences, skills, and interests. We are certain that there will be something for everyone because we are working on such a variety of tasks and embrace individual growth at MOIA.
