Position Summary...
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy. Ensures business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.

Our Team

This role is part of the Walmart Global Tech Product team with a specific focus on building products in the Facilities Management domain(One Reality) for Walmart Digital Facilities organization. Core Service – Retail Tech team is responsible for building and enhancing the next generation global Digital Facilities to further enhance our customer experience while reducing cost of maintenance. Walmart has significant opportunity to optimize our operations cost using advanced technology while enabling a rich customer experience and win with Walmart’s everyday low-cost philosophy. This role will help in accelerating our Technician platform roadmap and working with the FM business team to drive and measure the impact of our platform related initiatives. 

What you will do:

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to

• Build, develop and guide a team of high-performing talent for store and the technician space under reality.

• Participate in technical design & reviews, PoCs, Present in ARB.

• Be accountable for the engineering practices in the team like technical design, CI-CD, code quality, planning & delivering features

• Work with business stakeholders, architects, product & program managers • Work with global teams to deliver industry leading capabilities

• Able to identify & convey risks & issues to the leadership and help drive mitigate them. • Raise the bar for the team on technology with predictable & consistent deliveries • Good knowledge of Agile practices, Devops

• Partner with infrastructure teams

• Roll up sleeves and dive into the code when required

What you'll bring:

⁃ Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

⁃ 3-5 years of experience mentoring and leading teams with overall 15+ years’ experience

⁃ Proven experience in building high-performance teams and scalable best-practices in SaaS/Online/Enterprise Product engineering organisation

⁃ Excellent logical and problem-solving skills.

⁃ Experience in Distributed Systems Design for fault tolerance and high availability ⁃ Experience Message Queue based scalable async architecture

⁃ Experience in Multi-threading for speeding up computations on multi-core processors ⁃ Building for “as a service” model where components are multi-tenant, customisable and can be leveraged across Walmart’s business verticals

⁃ Must have experience in cloud-native distributed application patterns and tools, micro-services architectures and web application frameworks (React, Java, Spring Boot, EDI, Kafka, NoSQL DB’s), application migrations to any cloud platform.

⁃ Experience with CI/CD processes and design for high scale, availability, testability and extensibility. Excellent verbal and written communication. Technical Skills
