Job Title: Commercial Lines Underwriter - Remote | WFH

Job Overview

Join our esteemed company as a Commercial Lines Underwriter, where you will be entrusted with the management and expansion of your own book of business while simultaneously attracting new clients. This role requires a keen ability to assess risks, establish appropriate terms and pricing, and nurture robust relationships with agents and brokers. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide mentorship and informal leadership to your colleagues who are newer to the underwriting profession.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite both new and renewal business by thoroughly evaluating applications and making informed risk decisions in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with agents and brokers to uphold a productive loss ratio.
  • Engage in product development and pricing while focusing on territory-based customer development and relationship cultivation.
  • Participate in ongoing education initiatives and assist in training efforts for less experienced underwriters.
