Location: Fully Remote (Candidates must be based in Colombia)
Work Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Colombia Time)

Candidates must have prior legal experience working with U.S. law firms and/or within domestic legal settings.

Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and meticulous Bilingual Legal Assistant specializing in personal injury law to join our team. You will enhance our client intake operations for a prestigious U.S. law firm. This role allows you to significantly contribute to our success while enjoying career growth and flexibility. We seek a detail-oriented and highly skilled individual proficient in both Spanish and English, ideally with a certification or proven experience at the C1 level.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct client intake interviews by calling clients, collecting all necessary personal and case-related information, and requesting any required documents.
  2. Ensure all relevant information and documents are collected promptly and accurately for assigned cases. Follow up with clients as needed to gather any missing information.
  3. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their questions and concerns, and keeping them informed about case progress.
  4. Collect and review pertinent evidence related to personal injury cases, including medical records, accident reports, photographs, video footage, and witness statements.
  5. Conduct legal research to support the discovery process, reviewing relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  6. Assist in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence, ensuring they meet legal standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Relevant experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis), document management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine).
  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems and legal terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills with a commitment to client confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple cases and prioritizing tasks effectively.
