Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Mental Health Clinician to deliver personalized counseling services to individuals enrolled in Methadone, Outpatient, and Federal programs. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to provide exceptional care and support for men, women, youth, and families as they navigate their recovery from substance use disorders. Your responsibilities will encompass community outreach efforts to enhance awareness of our services and collaboration with Associate Directors to manage various assessments and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored counseling services across all contracted programs, ensuring timely and accurate maintenance of clinical records, including daily treatment encounters and billing via Methasoft and AVATAR EHR.
  • Conduct bodily fluid collection as part of the treatment protocols.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of up to 32 patients, while upholding confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Actively involve patients in the decision-making process, facilitating their understanding of assessments and appropriate levels of care.
  • Perform bio-psychosocial and ASAM assessments upon patient intake to identify the most appropriate level of care.
  • Collaborate respectfully and professionally with colleagues and patients alike.
  • Assist with case management tasks to ensure clients’ access to treatment and address any barriers hindering their recovery.
  • Provide additional support for group therapy and psycho-education sessions as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Associate Directors.

  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for managing substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a commitment to accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a mental health professional (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) or registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate (e.g., AMFT, ASW, APCC), with active pursuit of full licensure.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in mental health counseling, especially with criminal justice-involved populations.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with guidelines at local, state, and federal levels, including CFR 42 part 2, Title 22, and Title 9.
  • A valid California Class ‘C’ Driver's License is mandatory upon employment.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Pay: \(28.10 - \)31.60 per hour.
  • Expected Hours: 10 - 12 hours per week.
  • Schedule: 4-hour shifts, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Hybrid remote position based in Salinas, CA 93901, with relocation required prior to starting work.
  • Flexible scheduling options available.
