Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Mental Health Medical Biller to join our esteemed organization. This pivotal role involves managing the entire billing process for mental health services, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims to insurance providers. Your expertise will be essential in overseeing claims management, handling accounts receivable, and providing exceptional support to patients regarding their billing inquiries. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and code mental health services using appropriate billing codes (CPT, ICD-10) for insurance claim processing.
  • Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance providers in compliance with established timelines.
  • Monitor and pursue unpaid or rejected claims, taking necessary actions such as resubmissions and appeals to secure payments.
  • Generate and distribute patient statements for outstanding balances, assisting patients with their billing questions and establishing payment plans as needed.
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for both new and existing patients, ensuring that patient records remain up-to-date.
  • Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all billing activities, payments received, and interactions with both insurance companies and patients.
  • Collaborate effectively with mental health professionals and administrative staff to resolve billing issues and improve billing processes.

  • Preference for candidates holding Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification.
