The Role

We are looking for a visionary leader who will join our team as the VP, Product Segment – Mid Markets to set strategy and drive execution for the Mid Markets (MM) product segment. This includes engaging stakeholders to align on clear, actionable product strategies and priorities for the MM segment that will deliver optimal results for customers and Lumen. You will identify opportunities for improvement and incorporate new product features to best meet the needs of customers in the MM segment. This role is also accountable for clear and purposeful collaboration between segments and product owners.

This role is not part of the Sale's organization but works in support of sales. We function as an extension of the sales team with a primary focus on leadership in product, solutions, and strategy.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Complete accountability for the success and growth of the Mid Markets (MM) product segment including owning and driving a strong P&L.
  • Set strategies and guide the product roadmap. Consider the overall business and ask questions like, do we have the right GTM strategy?
  • Collaborate with product teams, sales, marketing, service delivery, and other key ecosystem partners to develop requirements, translate into PRDs, prioritize enhancements, and drive best in class product experience for customers.
  • Responsible for creating product solutions and collaborating with cross-functional partners like GTM team on how to "productize" the solution.
  • Define, monitor, and improve all key product segments metrics including, but not limited to, adoption, customer net promoter score (NPS), volume of leads, etc.
  • Prioritize the product roadmap for the MM segment in line with market research, customer feedback, and ecosystem partners’ capacity.
  • Actively monitor and analyze market research and trends to inform strategy and decisions for the MM segment, ensuring alignment with the latest industry developments and customer preferences.
  • Evangelize the Mid Markets segment vision through innovation and delivery.
  • Ensure clear communication between the Mid Markets segment and GTM & Business Operations functions for seamless working relationships.
  • Lead the identification of and capitalization on emerging opportunities within the MM segment, fostering innovation to maintain a competitive edge and drive future revenue growth.
  • Identify revenue growth opportunities within the segment and communicate potential overlap in opportunities with other segment leaders to drive alignment

What We Look For In a Candidate

  • BS degree, preferably in Business or a related field.
  • 15+ years of leadership or experience in the Mid Markets product segments.
  • Proven track record of launching successful products in MM through a blend of technical, creative, business, and marketing skills.
  • Superior communication, leadership, team building, and people management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize among competing requests, requirements, projects, etc., while balancing customer needs with business priorities, and clearly articulate the rationale behind decisions.
  • Versatile team player with demonstrated strong capabilities in communication - both oral and written - and presentation skills for all levels of audience.
  • Ability to lead a team of high performing individuals, both people leaders and individual contributors.
  • Experience and familiarity with SASE, Dark Fiber, Colo VPN, Enterprise Broadband, VoIP, Lumen Digital, M&P, and UCC products as they relate to MM.
  • Looking for the general manager profile so experience as a GM is a strong plus

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$176,400 - $235,200 in these states: AL AZ FL GA IA IN KS MO MT ND NM OH OK PA TN UT VT WI WV WY

$185,220 - $246,960 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$194,040 - $258,720 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
