The Role

This role is responsible for implementing GIS and/or data analytics components of CentralSquare products, including consulting with customers, collecting and analyzing GIS and other data, configuring products, and in some cases, providing customer training. This role works under the direction of a project manager and in coordination with other project staff including consultants, data conversion engineers, technical services engineers, and GIS colleagues.

This role is a true subject-matter expert and is proficient at scripting and implementing GIS portions of CentralSquare and Esri software and understanding interrelations between GIS features and configurations with non-GIS components. This role is also well-versed in desktop and web GIS and provides guidance, training, and mentorship to team members and staff from other groups.

Job Duties Include

  • Implements GIS and/or data analytics functionality and applications.
  • Analyzes and reports on GIS and related data quality.
  • Performs advanced Python and/or SQL scripting.
  • Provides GIS and application-related consulting and training.
  • Writes and improves upon documentation.
  • Serves as an escalation point for product support.
  • May administer web/server GIS or database environments.
  • Takes on non-standard and critical projects requiring deep subject-matter expertise.
  • Reviews other staff’s work to ensure proper functioning and adherence to standards.
  • Provides guidance to Product Management and Development on existing and future functionality.
  • Works independently planning projects and finding resources outside of the team to assist when needed.
  • May conduct one on ones with team members.
  • Assists team members on escalations when needed for small/medium size projects. Consult on large size projects with the help of manager.
  • Maintains current and identify new professional services tools and/or software to increase productivity.
  • May lead large group meetings on process and product.
  • May lead weekly team meetings and provide weekly status notes
  • Comfortably and effectively presents to audiences of various sizes and leadership levels internal and external.
  • May communicate and review work assignments with the team.
  • May work with team members to proactively avoid repeat problems for future implementations.
  • May create weekly financial milestones, monthly forecasting for revenue recognition, and end-of-month project percent complete.
  • May create forecasts of revenue for projects.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring to Numerator

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience
  • B.A. or B.S. degree in GIS, Geography or a related field
  • M.S. or M.A. preferred
  • Advanced desktop and web GIS and GIS conceptual knowledge
  • General knowledge of database administration
  • Significant knowledge of customer workflows and challenges
  • Subject-matter expertise for at least one CentralSquare product extending to related customer processes as well as disciplines beyond GIS
  • Advanced desktop GIS
  • Intermediate/advanced web/server GIS
  • Geodatabase management
  • Intermediate/advanced SQL and/or Pythons scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Effective documentation writing
  • Relates information effectively to users of varying knowledge levels
