The Opportunity

“FICO is looking for a talented Release Management DevOps Engineer to join our CCS (Customer Communication Services) Engineering TRICS team. The TRICS team (Tooling, Release Management, Infrastructure, Compliance and Security) is a DevOps enablement team that provides services to the overall CCS Engineering team. TRICS manages Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Security, Release Management… owning all aspects of the software lifecycle, from requirements capture through implementation, deployment and support. The team are always looking to try out new technologies and use the best tools to build a scalable, high volume and reliable platform.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities over Release Management, but will also be expected to be a technical contributor, working on CI/CD, IaC, etc. FICO CCS deploys a highly scalable Microservices platform based on Docker and AWS (Amazon Web Services) as the primary hosted environment. Within AWS, FICO CCS uses Services such as AWS ECS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, Elasticache, CloudFront, Cloudwatch, IAM, Lambda, KMS, Kinesis, EMR.” - Hiring Manager

What You’ll Contribute

  • Plan Release Schedules, liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure dates are fit for purpose.
  • Conduct Release Readiness meetings to ensure every consideration has been taken to ensure a successful release.
  • Deploy changes to lower environments (DEV and QA).
  • Create CRs (Change Requests) to deploy components to different environments.
  • Provide support to the Operations team when issues are encountered during deployments.
  • Provide suggestions to enhance and maintain our CI/CD framework and also actively contribute to its development.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines using languages such as Java (Groovy), Python, Javascript or Bash.
  • Help support, develop and manage our CI/CD Infrastructure (Jenkins, Bitbucket…) using Cloud Formation and Hashicorp Packer.
  • Liaise with the Cyber Security team to ensure smooth integration with Security tooling (Aquasec, Blackduck, Checkmarx, Kics, Invicti…)
  • Maintain and version in Git, with Jira as the Agile ticketing system and Confluence for documentation.

What We’re Seeking

  • Demonstrable practical Release Engineering/Management experience.
  • Demonstrable practical experience with Groovy/Java. Ideally, also Python, Javascript (node.js), and Bash.
  • Demonstrable practical experience with using and configuring CI/CD software: Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions.
  • Demonstrable practical experience with Cloud technologies, ideally AWS.
  • Experience in version control using Git (or similar) - especially via CLI.
  • Good understanding of the Linux System and comfortable with command-line operations on Linux environments.
  • Experience with Docker and Microservices.
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills.
