Data Networks, Inc (DNC), a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst (BA) to support a federal government client.
The BA is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for new features, enhancements, or products, or updating or clarifying existing business requirements, features, enhancements, or products, ensuring that the final software solution meets the needs of the business while adhering to technical constraints. This role requires a deep understanding of both business processes and software development methodologies.
This is a remote full-time position that requires hybrid skillsets covering technical, analytical, project management, organizational change management, IT business analysis skills, combined with stellar communication skills. The candidate must possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills to thrive in a highly detailed, matrixed, demanding, and collaborative environment. Work hours will be based on the Eastern Time Zone.
The duties for this role may include, but are not limited to:
- Develop requirements, and ensure requirements meet business needs and objectives, including being Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-based (SMART).
- Conduct meetings and workshops with business users, subject matte experts (SMEs), and technical staff to gather requirements and refine them as needed.
- Draft system requirements for the Government Project Manager to get approved in writing and assist in translating requirements to the software development team.
- Provide project analysis documentation including business requirements, use cases, sequence diagrams and future state proposals, presentations and briefings.
- Work with the Deputy PM and Product Owner to support the Government Project Manager, facilitate communication and coordinate tasks among the Development Team, Data Team, and Support Team and ensure necessary information is funneled to the appropriate team members for action.
- Take thorough, organized meeting notes; document requirements, decisions, and actions; follow-up with decision makers to ensure written approval is obtained.
- Support the Government Project Manager with planning and material preparation for meetings as needed.
- Produce, maintain, and update templates, forms, process documents, and slides for reviews.
- Ensure all documentation is maintained, version-controlled, and accessible to relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Analyze business processes to identify areas of improvement, efficiency gains, and opportunities for automation.
- Apply continual improvement and communicate lessons learned to further improvements in policies, processes, and procedures.
- Seek innovative strategies to successfully resolve complex business or technical requirement challenges for the IT infrastructure and applications.
- Collaborate on and document customer requirements: meet with end users to understand challenges and technical solutions, and refine existing requirements as needed.
- Support the Development Team through the tracking the status of daily project deliverables, updating trackers, coordinating communication among team members, and maintaining an overall awareness of the project deadlines, requests, and goals.
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of the Federal Government budgetary and Financial management processes.
- Experience in prioritizing requirements and helping the customer prioritize requirements (especially when there are multiple conflicting requirements)
- Demonstrated ability to be a trusted advocate for the customer.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years' experience in project management or systems development. 4 years total experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred Experience:
