Are you ready to lead the charge in shaping the future of Safety Products across North America? We're seeking a dynamic and strategic Product Business Development Manager to take ownership of our Fire Training product portfolio, both internally and externally. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the link between engineering, sales, bid management, and other departments, driving collaboration to achieve our objectives. Responsible for a key portfolio of Safety Products, you'll spearhead strategic positioning, pricing optimization, lifecycle management, and the seamless rollout of new products. Your will be instrumental in fostering key client relationships and driving growth. Working closely with Marketing leadership, you'll develop methodologies to stay ahead of customer needs and market trends, ensuring our competitive advantage. Leveraging your expertise, you'll integrate seamlessly with our Global organization to harness support and drive regional success.

In this role you will be:

  • Responsible for a key portfolio of Safety Products including: Strategic positioning, pricing excellence, lifecycle management, and product launch process rollout and measurement
  • Responsible for growth of a key portfolio of safety products through the identification, evaluation, development of key client relationships and business opportunities for order generation
  • Collaborate with Marketing leadership to establish methodology to monitor customer needs, market trends and product lifecycle feedback to differentiate us from the competition and grow market share
  • Integrate with Global organization to leverage strong relationships and build solid support and involvement for the region
  • Serve as Product Expert & Champion – performing gap analysis of product portfolio: including in-depth portfolio analysis and application profiles and opportunities
  • Align with team and leadership to build business cases + forecast market evolution and future product trends
  • Develop Sales Tools such as Total Cost of Ownership analysis and Competitive Comparison Tools

Complete ownership of the assigned Product Portfolio

  • Be the regional Product expert and go to person for all product support needs.
  • Champion the assigned portfolio to all relevant stakeholders, including customer facing support when required.
  • Lead all regional CPM activity capturing all regional customer requirements.
  • Support the Segment manager with Product expertise in regional initiatives to grow the relevant segment.
  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from product launches associated to the assigned portfolio through to product obsolescence at end-of-life cycle

Actively support Sales & Service to drive regional Net Sales and Global Gross Profit (GGP) of the assigned Product Portfolio within the region

  • Support Sales & Service regarding customer support aspects.
  • Analyze and take actions based on regional sales funnel, unit forecasting, win/loss data, and other data sources (historical data and internal tools )
  • Support the team on global marketing mix measures to ensure performance according to plan.
  • Support product approvals / regulatory affairs.
  • Support field corrective actions

Develop and implement regional (North America) product sales & marketing strategy for assigned Portfolio of Safety products across multiple applications(s) in accordance with global and regional strategy

  • Implementation of the global product portfolio strategy and roadmap in the region in line with the relevant segment strategies
  • Collaborate with the critical resource holders to source relevant product and competitive intelligence information proactively and communicate regularly to the relevant departments
  • Represent Draeger at Standard-setting Committees and associated regulatory bodies for key products on local and regional level

Provide input for the Global Product Portfolio and Safety Application(s) Strategy

  • Play an active role in the global and regional marketing communities and represent the Product Portfolio in all relevant discussions
  • Actively support the Global Product Manager in defining product roadmaps with a focus on meeting regional needs and requirements
  • Manage product lifecycle in close cooperation with Sales

Operational marketing and Sales & Service support for assigned Key Application Field(s)

  • Actively manage regional product launches, including cross-functional launch teams. Manage full regional portfolio for assigned responsibility
  • Provide 2nd level application and technical product support to the local organization including Sales, Customer Support & all other functions
  • Design and execute regular sales application trainings in the region

Product Management day to day fundamentals

  • Develop Product line PMB proposals
  • Define customer requirement specification when required (CRS)
  • Take part in product development meetings and projects
  • Manage the product launches and phase outs
  • Execute product trainings
  • Monitor product performance via launch cockpit
  • Provide sound competitive intelligence for product line
  • Specify product input to communication and sales marketing materials
  • Support sales teams and other departments in a professional and timely manner

Business Development day to day fundamentals

  • Develop key relationships with influential key decision makers and subject matter experts
  • Identify, arrange and lead key presentations to promote the identified product portfolio
  • Actively seek out and identify target client business opportunities and key accounts for the assigned portfolio
  • Effectively utilize all tools provided such as CRM, System Price, Price FX etc. and maintain accurate up to date records
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned

Your Qualifications

Education:

University degree in business or a related discipline or the equivalent in education, training and experience.

Related Experience :

  • Three plus years of work experience in Marketing in a B2B company, preferably with Product Management responsibility
  • Strong plus for some (non career) fire experience
  • Experience working around the construction industry would be beneficial
