Job description

Wildlight Entertainment is a brand-new, fully-funded entertainment studio comprised of talented creators from some of the biggest IPs in gaming, including Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Titanfall. We are driven by our deep passion for making AAA games that leave a lasting impact on the world, and we match that drive with a commitment to quality in every aspect of our work. We foster a positive, supportive work environment built on mutual trust and open communication, where everyone has a voice and is treated with respect. With a bias for action and a belief in each other, we’re betting on ourselves to deliver truly unforgettable gaming experiences.

We're a remote-first company, but we believe people should be able to work where they can be most productive. Currently, we can employ in the United States and Canada. We also have offices in Los Angeles and Seattle for those interested in hybrid or full-time office work.

We are looking for a Senior Engine Programmer to help us build the tools and systems required to ship a high-quality AAA game. Successful applicants should be familiar with the nuts and bolts of game development, including console SDK integrations, crash and performance bottleneck diagnosis, hardware and architecture specific tuning and optimizations, and other systems-related work. This is a critical support role, without which we cannot ship a high-quality product. As a part of our engineering team, you will contribute to a culture of collaborative problem-solving, technical excellence, and continuous education and improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain workflows needed to collect, analyze, and solve game-breaking crashes and correctness issues on multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to satisfy console certification requirements and set the bar for platform-specific systems integrations.
  • Research, design, and implement runtime and testing systems that empower QA and other departments to effectively identify and triage issues.

  • Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in game development.
  • Excellent C++ programming and debugging skills.
  • Experience shipping and maintaining multi-platform desktop and console games.
  • Experience with memory and CPU profiling on desktop and console.

  • Nice to Haves
  • Strong understanding of modern console and PC hardware architectures and performance characteristics.
  • Deep knowledge of game build, test, third-party SDK integration, and packaging practices.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to various forms of automation infrastructure and orchestration.
  • Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries, an annual bonus, and royalties. For this specific role, the base salary range is $170,000 to $220,000 (USD) with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.

Benefits: We are committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment with a no-crunch culture and an unlimited PTO policy so people can take the time when they need and want it! Additionally, we offer comprehensive healthcare, dental & vision coverage for you and your family and paid parental leave.
