Job description

The Offtaker Analyst and BizDev is responsible for supporting the identification, analysis, and management of offtake agreements related to renewable projects. This role involves market research, contract analysis, financial modeling, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that all agreements are aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements. The analyst will work closely with Country Manager and development teams to negotiate and secure offtake contracts, fostering relationship with potential buyers (offtakers) in Morocco.

Education

Our requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or specialized certification in energy markets or renewable energy is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in energy markets, contract management, or business analysis. Also in offtakers companies, utilities, administration, and similar.
  • Proven experience in negotiating or managing offtake agreements, particularly in the renewable energy.
  • Strong understanding of Moroccan energy policies and market dynamics.

Skills And Competencies

  • Proficient in financial modeling, market analysis, and contract management. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to assess risks and propose solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant financial software.
  • Fluent in French and Arabic; proficiency in English is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research & Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth research on energy markets, with a focus on renewable energy and hydrogen sectors in Morocco.
  • Analyze supply and demand dynamics to identify potential offtakers for energy and hydrogen products.
  • Monitor trends in energy pricing, policy, and regulations to assess potential impacts on offtake agreements.
  • Offtake Contract Development
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating offtake agreements, ensuring that they meet both legal and financial requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and financial teams to ensure that contract terms are aligned with company objectives and risk management strategies.
  • Provide insights on pricing structures, payment terms, and contract duration based on market analysis.
  • Financial Modeling & Risk Assessment
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate the profitability and risks associated with various offtake agreements.
  • Analyze potential contract risks, including payment delays, volume obligations, and termination clauses, and propose mitigating strategies.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis on pricing, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Identify and engage with potential offtakers, including industrial buyers, energy companies, and governmental entities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to secure long-term offtake agreements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (business development, finance, legal) and external partners (offtakers, regulators) to facilitate contract execution.
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, summarizing key findings, opportunities, risks, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records of offtake negotiations and contracts for future reference and audits.
  • Track contract performance and compliance, ensuring all parties adhere to agreed terms.
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure that all offtake agreements comply with Moroccan energy regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on renewable energy policies, trade laws, and environmental standards relevant to offtake agreements.
  • Advise management on the implications of regulatory changes and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
